Burlington County, NJ (WTXF) A Burlington County family is smiling after being reunited with an item belonging to their late father who fought in World War II.
Hudson Leroy Funk was part of the 83rd Infantry Division and fought in Normandy, France. He returned to the US and later died when he was 55 years old.
Well recently, his family in Medford, New Jersey, got a phone call. A man using a metal detector in Normandy named Glyn Nightingale found a mess tin with the initials HLF on it.
He did some research and was able to trace it back to Funk. He traveled to America to return it to Funk's" family.
