Man previously suspected of impersonating police was serving legal paperwork: authorities

LOWER ALLOWAY, N.J. - Police in Lower Alloways Creek say a man that they previously suspected of impersonating police was actually a process server who was serving legal documents.
Earlier this week, police had released photos of the man outside of home who appeared to be wearing a badge on his neck.
In a post on social media, the Lower Alloways Creek Police Department shared that they had received reports of a man knocking on doors claiming to be a police officer.
After further investigation, police say the man was identified as an employee of a legitimate legal service company based in Toms River, New Jersey.
