Mystery donor pays off DE school's outstanding meal balances
Wilmington, DE (WTXF) - Students at Frederick Douglass Stubbs elementary school got a special surprise this week.
The Child Nutrition Services department announced that an anonymous check for over $1200 was sent to the school. According to Stubbs elementary school, the check is enough to pay off all outstanding meal balances at the school.
The donor chose to remain anonymous, but that hasn't stopped students and faculty at Stubbs elementary from openly rejoicing over the news.
"We have families who struggle to pay their bills during the holidays, and this incredible gift provides welcome relief to many of our parents," said Stubbs principal Jeffers Brown.
