NJ officer charged with child sex assaults will stay jailed

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (AP) -- A police officer accused of sexually assaulting two children will remain jailed until his trial.

Burlington County prosecutors say the alleged abuse by William Sanchez-Monllor occurred on multiple occasions. But further details on the allegations have not been disclosed.

Sanchez-Monllor, a 36-year-old Burlington Township resident who serves with the Trenton police force, faces 10 counts of sexual assault and two counts of child endangerment. His job status wasn't known Tuesday.

It's not known if Sanchez-Monllor has retained an attorney.
