NJ officer under investigation for excessive force after arrest leaves man critically injured
VINELAND, N.J. (AP) - Prosecutors in New Jersey are investigating police after a recent arrest left a man in critical condition.
The Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office says Vineland police were called to the Inspira Medical Center Saturday afternoon for a domestic incident involving a man believed to be drunk.
A police officer took the man to the ground to handcuff him, and he was taken to a hospital in Camden for a head injury.
Police say the man was listed in critical condition as of Sunday.
The man's name has not been released.
Prosecutors have not identified the officer involved.
An investigation into police use of force is ongoing.
