NJ youth tennis instructor faces additional sex assault, kidnapping charges

FREEHOLD, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey youth tennis instructor faces multiple sex-related charges including kidnapping and sexual assault against one of his students and other children, according to a new indictment released this week by authorities in Monmouth County.

Terry Kuo, who also allegedly uses the name Victor Lee, faces a total of 47 counts in the superseding indictment handed up by a grand jury in December.

The 26-year-old Kuo was initially indicted last January after a 13-year-old student came forward to authorities. Further investigation uncovered alleged crimes against other children, according to the Monmouth County prosecutor's office.

The new indictment charges Kuo with multiple counts of kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault as well as possessing and manufacturing child pornography. It lists three minors listed by the initials "D.E.," ''F.P." and "E.M."

Kuo faces kidnapping charges for allegedly removing D.E., on more than one occasion, "a substantial distance from the vicinity where she was found and/or unlawfully confining" her for a substantial period, according to the indictment.

The indictment also charges Kuo with committing acts of sexual assault against all three victims and with taking photos or videos of some or all of them engaged in prohibited sexual acts.

In an email Thursday, Kuo's attorney, Richard Incremona, said the indictment is "a charging document, not a conviction."

"There is more to this case than meets the eye, and Mr. Kuo looks forward to that becoming clearer as the case progresses," he added.

Kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault, the two most serious crimes in the indictment, carry maximum sentences of life with a minimum of 25 years parole ineligibility, according to the prosecutor's office.

Kuo is being held in the Monmouth County Jail.
