Oakland school band kneels during national anthem

Members of the Oakland Unified School District honor band staged a protest similar to 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick's.

Some students knelt down on one knee while playing the national anthem Tuesday night before the A's game at the Oakland Coliseum.

Toward the end of the song most of the students took a knee in protest against police brutality.

The protest comes in the wake of Kaepernick sitting and kneeling during anthems this season, to protest what he calls the unfair treatment of people of color by police.
