Officer watches car lose control and crash, makes drug arrest
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. (WTXF) - A police officer watched as the driver directly in front of him "lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck a utility pole." It ended up as a major drug bust.
Egg Harbor Township police said it was late Friday, shortly before 11pm. The cars were heading southbound on Spruce Avenue near Ivystone Lane when the crash happened.
The driver was Mikal White, 23, from Egg Harbor Township.
When the crash scene was cleared, police say another officer found 112 grams of marijuana, 180 Xanax pills and 23 bags of crack cocaine inside the 2006 Honda Accord.
White was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Xanax, possession of Xanax with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled dangerous substances with intent to distribute in a school zone. He was also issued several motor vehicle charges.
White is out of jail in lieu of bond.
