Officials: 4 people injured in rollover crash, including 2 children, were not wearing seat belts

Two children who were not buckled in were ejected from a vehicle despite having car seats in the vehicle after the van blew a tire along I-75 in Tampa.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say four people were traveling southbound on I-75 near the Fletcher Ave. exit when the rear tire blew out, causing the SUV to travel into the median and overturn several times.

None of the four occupants, including two children ages one and four-months-old, were wearing seatbelts. The children were ejected from the SUV despite having car seats in the vehicle, troopers say, and the adults were partially ejected.

All four people were transported to Tampa General Hospital, but fortunately, all injuries were non-life threatening.

Troopers want everyone to remember to buckle up and arrive alive this holiday season.
