Officials: Dispute spurred man to fatally shoot mom, sister in Allentown
ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A man who authorities say shot and killed his mother and sister following an argument at their Pennsylvania apartment has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide.
Thirty-five-year-old Zakiiy Altariq Carson was arraigned Monday, one day after the shooting occurred in Allentown. It wasn't immediately clear if he's retained a lawyer.
Carson is charged in the deaths of 52-year-old Latricia Ezell and 29-year-old Ashley Campfield. The Allentown residents were shot shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday in a rear parking lot of the apartment building.
Authorities say Carson told them he had been arguing with the two women and went outside to smoke a cigarette. When the pair came outside to leave, he shot them.
No other injuries were reported in the shooting, which remains under investigation.
