One person injured in South Philadelphia officer-involved shooting

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - One person is in the hospital after a Philadelphia police-involved shooting in South Philadelphia.

Authorities say police responded to a 911 call of a person with a gun on the 1500 block of South Etting Street around 8:30 Saturday night.

Investigators say they saw a man open fire into a crowd and responding officers discharged their weapons.

No word on the extent of the injuries of the person hurt.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
