Paramedic sexually assaulted a boy during ride-along program, authorities say
WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Police arrested and charged a paramedic who they say sexually assaulted a minor during a ride-along program.
The incident happened on Wednesday, August 9 at approximately 4:50 a.m. in a car parked in a remote location within the 1000 block of Phoenixville Pike.
The West Goshen Township Police say that the victim participated in a summer career development ride-along program with the Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital Paramedic Unit. The victim said he was routinely partnered with Paramedic Kenneth T. Mason and that he considered Mason a mentor.
The victim told police that he had fallen asleep inside the paramedic vehicle with Mason. About an hour later, he was awakened by Mason rubbing the victim's genitals and making obscene comments about the actions. The victim stated that he was unaware and did not consent to the advances.
Mason is charged with Corruption of Minors and Indecent Assault.
