Pastor charged with sexually assaulting youth group member in 2001

Authorities in Berks County have arrested a pastor after they say he sexually assaulted a member of a youth group back in 2001.

Charles Warren Holt, 51, has been arrested and charged after he allegedly assaulted a member of a Youth Group at Reading Evangelical Free Church back in 2001 when she was 17.

Officials say the investigation started at the end of August after investigators received a tip from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.

Holt was serving as a youth pastor at the church when he met the victim. According to investigators, the victim had worked as a babysitter for Holt and his wife at their home. During that time, Holt is accused of sexually assaulting the victim.

Authorities say the victim was assaulted numerous times, both in Holt's home and his car a number of times prior to her 18th birthday.

Holt has been charged with aggravated indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and related charges. He was taken into custody in Lancaster County on Wednesday.
