Pedestrian struck and killed on Rt. 38 in Cherry Hill

A man has died after they were struck by a vehicle on Route 38 in Cherry Hill early Thursday morning, according to police.

Police say the pedestrian exited a New Jersey Transit bus at the Rt. 38 eastbound and Longwood Ave. bus stop and ran across Rt. 38 towards the Burger King. The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lane of Rt. 38, according to police. Investigators say the man landed in the eastbound lane and was struck by two additional vehicles. All three of the involved drivers remained at the scene and were cooperative with police. Preliminary investigation revealed that Rt. 38 traffic had a green signal and that the pedestrian crossed against a red signal.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
