Philadelphia man charged in 2 Atlantic City shootings that left 1 dead, 1 wounded
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - A Philadelphia man who allegedly shot and killed a man at an Atlantic City motel is also facing charges in a separate shooting that left another man wounded.
Atlantic County prosecutors say 36-year-old Avery Bracey faces numerous counts including murder, robbery, aggravated assault and weapons offenses. It wasn't known Saturday if he's retained an attorney.
Prosecutors say Bracey fatally shot 21-year-old Ky'Lee Haynes at the Sunset Inn around 8:40 p.m. Friday. The Atlantic City man was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.
Atlantic City police responded to another shooting later Friday and found a man who matched the motel shooting suspect's description. Authorities say Bracey had a gun on him when he was arrested.
The victim from the second shooting later went to a hospital seeking treatment for a leg wound.
Motives for both shootings remain under investigation.
