Philadelphia woman charged with planning to join ISIS going on trial
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - A trial is set to begin for the Philadelphia woman charged with planning to join ISIS.
Prosecutors say Keonna Thomas knowingly and intentionally tried to provide material support and resources, including herself, to a foreign terrorist organization.
Thomas was arrested in the spring of last year.
Federal agents with a search warrant raided her home. They said she was headed to Syria to join ISIS and had a plane ticket to Spain for the first leg of her trip.
She faces a 15-year prison sentence if she's convicted.
