Police: 2-year-old returned to East Mount Airy home after being abducted by mother's ex-boyfriend

A 2-year-old girl who police say was abducted early Wednesday morning in East Mount Airy has been returned home.

The incident began with an altercation between the mother and her ex-boyfriend around 2:15 a.m. on the 6600 block of Ross Street.

A house window was damaged in the process. A child's sock could also be seen in the street.

According to police, the 21-year-old man had been communicating with authorities through the mother's phone that he took with him.

Police confirmed Wednesday afternoon that the child was returned home.

Authorities are still searching for the ex-boyfriend.
