Police: 5-year-old girl may have been kidnapped by men in truck
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Texas Equusearch is joining the search efforts for 4-year-old Maleah Davis on Monday.
An Amber Alert was issued for little Maleah on Saturday after she was reportedly abducted on Friday night.
Texas Equusearch is searching the area in northeast Houston that is believed to be the location where Maleah's stepfather, Darion Vence, said he pulled over to check on his tire after hearing a pop and was knocked unconscious by someone on Friday night.
Maleah, Darion and his 2-year-old son were reportedly abducted by three Hispanic males in a blue, Crew-cab, Chevy pickup truck (possibly a 2010 year model) Friday night. The father was assaulted, and he and his son were dropped off in the southwest Houston/Sugar Land area Saturday night, near State Highway 6 and the Southwest Freeway. The abductors kept Maleah with them and drove off.
Maleah is an African-American female with black hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 3-feet tall and weighs 30-40 pounds. She was last seen Saturday night around 8 p.m. wearing a light blue Under Armor jacket, blue jeans, and gray Under Armor tennis shoes with pink and white details. Police say Maleah has also had brain surgery.
Detectives ask anyone who saw Darion or Maleah after 9 p.m. Friday (May 3) to 6 p.m. on Saturday to contact HPD Homicide 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
Detectives said the motive in the kidnapping incident is unknown at this time.
