Police investigating fatal crash overnight in Chester County

WEST FALLOWFIELD TOWNSHIP (FOX 29) - Police say a fatal car crash involving a tractor trailer and a sedan left one dead early Friday morning in Chester County.

Investigators say a car traveling north on Gap Newport Pike in West Fallowfield Township crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head on with a tractor trailer.

The driver of the car died on the scene, according to authorities. No word yet on the condition of the tractor trailer driver.

The crash closed Gap Newport Pike for several hours between Limestone Road and Highland Road.

The highway has since been re-opened.

Police are still investigating the crash.
