Police release surveillance video of possible suspects in Atlantic City police shooting

An Atlantic City police officer was shot overnight, and a suspect involved is dead.

According to police, the incident occurred at 2:34 a.m. Saturday.

A press release states that at that time, two uniformed Atlantic City police officers exited their patrol vehicle to approach a group of people engaged in criminal activity.

One officer was shot and injured as he exited the vehicle, and that's when the second officer returned fire, striking at least one of the suspects.

The suspect fled in different directions, and the suspect that was struck was found about one-and-a-half blocks away on Missouri and Pacific Avenues, collapsed and deceased.

Five more suspects are still at large. The injured officer is out of surgery and remains in critical condition.

Officials have posted a $20,000 reward for information on the suspects involved.
