Police Search for Man Accused of Fraud
Philadelphia police are searching for a man who is accused of fraud.
According to police, Harry Moore,44, listed a property at 8082 N. Fayette Street in West Oak Lane for rent through ads on Craigslist and showed the property. Police say Moore requested a deposit for the rental and set a date for move in. However, prior to the agreed upon move in date into the rental property, Moore is allegedly contacted the victims and created fabricated narratives explaining why the property is no longer available, according to investigators.
Police say in each incident, the victims have requested a return on their deposit; then Moore sets up a meeting to return the money, but refuses to appear. As of this date, Moore has taken $10,500.00 cash in deposits, according to police. The alleged incidents occurred on 03/25/15, 05/12/15, 05/25/15, and 08/05/15.
Moore is described as 6'7", weighing approximately 180-200lbs.
There are active arrest warrants for 3 incidents; an arrest warrant has been submitted to the D.A.'s Office for the 4th incident and is awaiting approval.
