Police: 'Sneaker Bandit' steals 16 pairs of shoes from Sears

Police in Bensalem are seeking the public's help in locating a man who reportedly stole sneakers from a Sears store.

According to police, a man entered Sears in the Neshaminy Mall October 3, about 10:15 in the morning.

Authorities say the man took 16 pairs of sneakers from the original packaging and put the sneakers in a large, blue plastic bag. Police say the 'Sneaker Bandit' put $800 to $1,000 worth of stolen shoes into a big blue plastic bag and promptly left the store without paying. He was confronted in the parking lot by security, but managed to escape.

According to police, he jumped into a silver sedan with New Jersey plates and drove off.
