Police: Suspect sought after breaking into West Philadelphia home in broad daylight

Police are looking to identify and locate a man they say broke into a home in West Philadelphia in broad daylight over the weekend.

Surveillance video from the incident shows a suspect entering an unoccupied home on the 3900 block of Aspen Street on Sunday around 4:30 p.m.

Investigators say the suspect, who was armed with a handgun, broke in through the back door of the property and remained inside for several minutes. Video shows the suspect in the kitchen, at one point placing the gun on the table, and later appearing to make a phone call from inside the home.

According to police, the residents were not home at the time of the break-in and the incident may have been related to a home invasion and robbery that occurred at the same home back on June 4. In that incident, police say they are still looking for two suspects who were described as black males.

The suspect in Sunday's incident has been described by police as a black male, in his late teens to early 20s, standing 5'9".

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incidents is asked to contact police.
