Police: Woman dies after being struck by SEPTA bus in Chestnut Hill

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) Authorities say one woman has died and her daughter was injured after they were struck by a by a SEPTA bus at the intersection of Germantown Avenue and Gravers Lane in Chestnut Hill.

It happened just before 4:30 p.m. last Thursday.

76-year-old Elizabeth O'Malley and her 50-year-old daughter Anne were crossing the street when the Route L bus turned left off Germantown Ave. and struck them both. On Saturday Elizabeth O'Malley succumbed to her injuries, according to authorities.

Witnesses say her daughter let out a blood curdling scream and fellow pedestrians ran for help or to call 911.
SEPTA which has given accident investigators the video disc from the bus' forward facing front camera says neither the bus driver nor passengers aboard the bus were injured.
