Searching for suspect who led police chase in hospital, then escaped
UNIVERSITY CITY (WTXF) - The search is on for a man who was arrested but then ran from police inside a hospital. He was eventually lost during a chase outside.
Philadelphia police say Khalil Robinson was arrested for DUI and drugs, and then taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in University City, just after midnight Thursday.
They say a police officer went to make sure he was handcuffed when he "sprung from the bed and ran out of the room."
Two officers chased Robinson around the nurse's station and out of the building. That chase went across Powelton Avenue and into a park across the street.
Robinson, 24, got away somewhere in the area of 3800 Warren Street.
He was arrested for DUI and narcotics offenses just before 10pm Wednesday at 65th Street and Woodland Avenue.
Anyone with information on Robinson is asked to call the Southwest Detective Division at 215-686-3183 or dial 911.
