Snow meant spending Christmas weekend in cars

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (WTXF) - Christmas means bringing holiday cheer and presents, and sometimes traffic but not like this, especially in Arizona.

It was a white Christmas around Flagstaff and many people had to spend it in their cars.

Up to a foot of snow made driving dangerous and I-40 had to be closed in both directions from Saturday into Sunday.

Drivers were forced to find ways to keep their minds off their unfortunate and disappointing situation.

When the highway was reopened, safety officials still urged slow-going because roads were still wet and icy.
