Substitute teacher's aide charged with sexual contact with 2 male students
WEST CHESTER, Pa. (WTXF) - A Chester County substitute teacher's aide is under arrest, accused of engaging in sexual contact with two male students while working Unionville High School.
According to the Chester County District Attorney's Office, "The illegal conduct occurred off-campus and outside of regular school hours."
Sheri Maufort, 42 of West Chester, worked for a company that provides substitute teachers, aides, and administrative support staff to various schools.
Unionville-Chadds Ford superintendent John Sanville said, "We immediately reported this incident to law enforcement and are grateful for the rapid response. We now will begin the difficult task of addressing this incident with our students, parents, and teachers."
The criminal complaint says the two victims were students in her classroom. She texted the first victim, under the age of 18, to come outside his home and meet her. He got into her car "and she took him out of his neighborhood. She supplied him with alcohol. She then parked at a restaurant ... walked out into a field where she kissed the victim on the mouth and performed oral sex on him."
Then, her husband showed up at the restaurant. Sheri Maufort "told the victim not to tell anyone what happened and to call her when he turned 18. The defendant's husband then drove the victim home."
Then, three weeks later, a second victim who was 18 but still a student ran into Sheri Maufort at a party after a high school football game. He got into her car "and she drove them out of the neighborhood where the party was being held. The defendant parked the vehicle and kissed the second victim and touched his penis. The defendant then drove the second victim back to the party."
These incidents allegedly happened in August and September. They were reported to law enforcement last Friday, Nov. 11.
Sheri Maufort was arrested Wednesday and charged with multiple counts of institutional sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and the endangering welfare of children, and corruption of minors.
