Surfers Emerge From Water, Catch Alleged Burglar

VENTURA, CALIF. - A pair of young surfers made a surprising discovery this week. While they were surfing, they caught- and subdued- a man who was trying to break into one of their cars.

Jolie Bernal and Maliny Soukkhassem were surfing in Ventura, Calif., when they noticed someone trying to break in to Maliny's car. Thankfully, they caught a wave in, reached land quickly, and confronted the man.

"I pulled him by the collar, I pulled him out and punched him, and started yelling at him," Jolie said. She later got the man to the ground, and held on to him long enough for police to arrive.

Gordon Gleason, 59, was arrested for the crime.
