Suspect in connection to South Philadelphia double homicide surrenders

16-year-old Brandon Olivieri surrendered to police Friday evening shortly after a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection with the shooting death of two teenagers in South Philadelphia.

Police say the shooting took place on the 2300 block of South 12th Street around 8:30 p.m. after an argument between two groups of teens.

Sal DiNubile and Caleer Miller were both shot in the chest and taken to Jefferson Hospital where they were pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigators say just three shots were fired, and witnesses claimed the suspects fled down 12th Street.

Early Friday morning, Philadelphia Police confirmed that Olivieri's home was shot 14 times overnight while his family slept on the upper floors of the home. No one was injured in the shooting.
