Swarms of gnats reported in the region

People have reported seeing swarms of gnats all over the Delaware Valley.

FOX 29 viewers started to spot the bugs around 7 p.m. Monday.

There were reports of seeing the bugs around the Northeast Philadelphia Airport, Center City, South Philadelphia, Montgomery County and beyond.

FOX 29 reached out to the Academy of Natural Sciences we have not heard back at this time. According to FOX 29 Kathy Orr, it's mating season for gnats and what many saw were 'gnat clouds'.

Philly 311 tweeted, "On the do-to-list: Add the option for how to deal with swarms of bugs in Philadelphia as a service request for our citizens."

Philadelphia police addressed the bugs on their Twitter as well.
