Teacher allegedly poses in blackface Kanye West costume

ALABAMA (WTXF/STORYFUL) - An image featuring a white Alabama teacher allegedly posing in blackface with his wife has gone viral.

Heath Morrow and Shannon Morrow dressed as Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West respectively. The image of them both dressed up was originally posted to Shannon's Facebook page according to Storyful.

According to the NY Daily News, the couple came under fire after posting the photo and they took the photo down. In a statement to the NY Daily News, Shannon wrote that she didn't know that dressing up as a celebrity couple would cause controversy. She went on to say there was no malicious intent or racial intent.

However, someone was able to take a screengrab of the photo and posted it to Imgur and Reddit.

According to Storyful, Heath lists his place of work as Decatur City Schools, Decatur, Alabama.

AL.com reports that he teaches at Chestnut Grove Elementary School in Decatur and the school's website lists him as a fifth grade teacher there.
