Touching gift brings father to tears

Fort Wayne, IN (WTXF) - When their brother Tommy died in 1993, it really hit his father and sister incredibly hard.

Back in February of that year, all three of them were getting ready to celebrate birthdays.

"My brother and I had a very special connection. When I was born on his 6th birthday my parents had told him I was his birthday gift. And of course with that he would always tease me and say if I didn't do something or I was bugging him that he could always throw me away. He was very funny. One of the sweetest guys anyone could have ever met, " Candice Pelz told FOX 29.

Tragically, Tommy died a day before his father's birthday that year after being hit by a train. Now what was once a happy time of year, became a painful reminder of their loss.

"He would always call me on our birthday. Which I always looked forward to. Since his death I have not really celebrated my birthday if at all. He will always be one of the best biggest brothers in my book, Candice told FOX 29.

On the anniversary of Tommy's death last year, Candice presented a gift to their father, Kevin, which caused him to break down and cry.

The gift was two pictures of their departed Tommy and another with Candice and her two younger brothers.

Candice says these photos weren't easy to come by. One of the photos included a photo of Tommy when he was 4 years old with Kevin.

The clip, which was originally posted in 2015, began trending on Youtube on Tuesday. Watch clip above.
