Trump, Biden attend UPenn Graduation

PHILADELPHIA, PA (WTXF) - Secret service' agents have descended upon University City tonight. Two political heavy-weights are at Penn's College of Arts and Sciences graduation.

Vice President Joe Biden and presumptive republican presidential nominee Donald Trump weren't focused on the election Sunday night.

FOX 29 Brad Sattin reported live University City where they were there to cheer on family members.

Our cameras captured emergency vehicles over bridges gates around the stadium, secret service and police everywhere.

The focus should have been entirely on Penn's1500 new graduates, but you couldn't help but feel the buzz in the stands, with a particular father and grandfather in the crowd.

What are the odds? A sitting vice president, Joe Biden, there to watch his granddaughter Naomi graduate and then as we do a little pan to the right, same front row seats, presumptive republican nominee Donald Trump in attendance to see his daughter Tiffany receive her diploma.

"When Trump came in, there was applause, there was energy, he was waving. When Biden came in, the entire place rose to its feet and started clapping, so it was pretty amazing to see," David Fineberg, a parent said.

"It was great to actually sit behind them actually. Did you catch a glimpse? yes, we did, we saw Biden, we saw Trump, so it was excited to see all the security details," Jude Theoma said.

Security detail, alright, around every turn, which did make getting to the ceremony a bit tedious. Some people said they had a three hour wait.

One may currently hold the second-highest office. The other with ambitions to hold the highest but for a few hours, they were simply spectators.

Donald Trump graduated from Penn's Wharton School of Business in 1968.

Trump and Biden aren't expected to attend Monday's main graduation ceremony for the Ivy League school. Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of the megahit Broadway musical "Hamilton," will speak at that ceremony and receive an honorary degree.
