Two men rob delivery truck of several pairs of sneakers in Belfield

Police are searching for two men they say robbed a delivery truck of several pairs of sneakers.

The incident occurred on Monday at 11:04 a.m. in the area of 5600 Ogontz Avenue in Belfield.

Police say the 40-year-old victim, a deliveryman for Olympia Sports, noticed through the camera located inside the cab of his vehicle that the batch latch of the truck was not secured and the door was open.

When he stopped at a red light, he went to the rear of the truck and saw a man inside tossing boxes of shoes to another man.

When he attempted to intervene, the second man punched him on the left side of his face.

Both suspects then fled with multiple boxes of sneakers with an unknown value.

Surveillance video shows an older model white work van following the victim's truck and an unknown black male exiting the van and then cutting the lock off the truck while stopped.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 6'0" with a thin build, dark complexion, possibly bald, and wearing a white t-shirt and dark-colored pants.

Suspect #2 is described as a black male, 5'9"-6'1", with a dark complexion, muscular build, and wearing a black t-shirt and dark-colored pants.

Their vehicle is described as a white Chevy/GMC model work van.
