Vigil held for 4-year-old killed in Camden house fire
CAMDEN, NJ (WTXF) - A candlelight vigil was held Saturday evening for a little girl who was killed in an overnight house fire in Camden.
A few dozen people turned out to remember the brief life of 4-year-old Lai-Yannie Williams. She died Saturday morning when her home on the 1200 block of Morton Street caught fire.
Eight people were inside at the time, including a 10-day-old baby boy. Everyone else was able to get out of the house.
The Fire Marshal is still investigating the cause of the fire, but officials say it does not appear to be suspicious.
Friends and family say the little girl, known as "Taco," was full of life.
"To lose someone at such a young age… it's hard," grandmother Sherri Hayward told FOX 29. "It's hard on all of us."
Two people, including the infant, remained at Cooper University Hospital Saturday night.
