WATCH: Off Duty Coast Guard Officers Recue Sea Turtles
Two members of the U.S. Coast Guard went above and beyond on their day off to save a trio of Sea Turtles.
The turtles had become trapped in a fishing net this past Saturday off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii.
Petty Officer 1st Class Matthew Young and Seaman Cameron Ables spotted the turtles in distress and jumped into the water with knives in hand.
Video shows the men cutting the turtles loose as they swim away, and the officers bring the net to shore, to ensure no more animals would become trapped.
This video shows the turtles swimming away from the net after being freed.
