Weather Authority: Rain and snow Tuesday ahead of bitter cold

Rain and snow will move into the area Tuesday ahead of bitter cold temperatures.

According to FOX 29's Kathy Orr, rain will change to snow in Philadelphia between 6-8 p.m. and the snow will taper off for most of the area around midnight.

Philadelphia will see between 1-2" of snow with higher accumulation expected in the north and west.

The brutal cold moves in Wednesday morning with temperatures in the teens and single digits. On Thursday morning, the area will see the coldest temperatures so far this winter. Temperatures in Allentown will feel like 16 below and it will feel like eight below in Philadelphia.
