Wet dog food recalled over potential choking risk

Hard white pieces of plastic that could cause dogs to choke have Mars Petcare US voluntarily recalling some of its Cesar Classics Filet Mignon Flavor product.

The company announced the plastic somehow got into the food during the production process.

The recall is for Cesar Classics Filet Mignon bought individually, as well as in flavor variety multipacks.

The individual packs of Cesar Classics Filet Mignon Flavor wet dog food included in the recall are 3.5 oz., have the UPC code 23100017792, and lot codes printed on side of the tray that begin with 631FKKC or 631GKKC. Also, there are Best Before dates of 080418 (Aug. 4, 2018) or 080518 (Aug. 5, 2018).

The Cesar Classics Filet Mignon Flavor can be found in variety packs of 24 with UPC code 23100010257 and any of these lot codes: 632D14JC, 633B24JC, 634A14JC, 634A24JC, 634B14JC, 634B24JC, 634E14JC, 635A24JC, 635B14JC, 636D24JC and 636E14JC.
