Willingboro police investigate murder of 21-year-old woman
WILLINGBORO, N.J. (FOX 29) - Investigators in Willingboro, New Jersey are continuing to investigate the death of a young woman who was found shot to death inside her car Thursday morning.
Maribely Lopez, 21, was found dead in her running car around 8:30 a.m. Thursday on Medley Lane.
FOX 29's Kelly Rule reports that the car was running and the lights were on when a passerby discovered Lopez's body. In the passenger seat of the vehicle, there was what appears to be a manikin head.
Neighbors tell FOX 29 there was police activity late Thursday night at a home just a block away from where Lopez was found.
Police say Lopez is from Lindenwold, New Jersey and it remains unclear what she was doing 40 minutes from her home.
The investigation is the second murder investigation in the neighborhood in less than a month.
Back on Feb. 18, a 21-year-old man was shot and killed. That victim was also in a running car just a few blocks away from Thursday's incident.
