Wilmington Police Detective charged in arson
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP/WTXF) -- Wilmington Police say an officer has been charged with soliciting a man to set fire to his car.
The department in a news release that Detective Ahmard Reddick, an 8-year veteran, reported on Tuesday that someone had poured gasoline into his car and set it on fire.
Officers say investigators identified a suspect, who told them that Reddick has solicited him to set the fire.
Reddick was arrested Thursday and charged with arson, criminal solicitation and other offenses. The department says he has been put on administrative leave pending a suspension hearing.
It could not be immediately determined if Reddick has a lawyer.
