Woman critical after stabbing; alleged stabber dead in Wissinoming
WISSINOMING (WTXF) - A woman is in critical condition after being stabbed 16 times. The person who allegedly stabbed her, police say, is dead.
Police were called to the 5700 block of Erdrick Street about 6:30 Sunday evening.
Officials discovered the 43-year-old woman with 16 stab wounds to her upper extremities, including her face and arms. She was rushed to Einstein Medical Center and listed in critical condition.
Police found a 43-year-old man at the scene who, they say, stabbed the woman while under the influence of narcotics.
The man was transported to Jefferson Frankford Hospital for treatment. He died after arrival.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
