Woman Found Dead in Car Following Kensington Shooting

Philadelphia Police are investigating a murder after a woman was found dead in her car in the city's Frankford Section.

Police say the 32-year-old woman was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds on the 2800 block of Frankford Avenue shortly after 5:15 a.m. Saturday morning.

Investigators spent the better part of the morning combing the area, and the woman's 2014 Ford Escape for evidence.

Neighbors say they heard gunfire break out around 1:00 a.m., but officers did not discover the woman in the front seat of her car until roughly four hours later.

Police say she had been shot in the head and torso, and she was pronounced dead by medics a short time later.

No arrests have been made, and police have not yet determined a motive.

Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate.
