Eagles vs. Commanders injury report: Cam Jurgens active for NFC Championship
PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders have released their final injury reports ahead of Sunday's NFC Championship game at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Commanders previously announced they would be without starting defensive lineman Daron Payne who had been dealing with knee and finger injuries.
Meanwhile, all eyes are on the status of Eagles Pro-Bowl center Cam Jurgens.
Eagles Injury Report
What we know:
The Eagles announced Sunday that Jurgens, who had been dealing with a back injury all week, will be active for Sunday's NFC Championship game. Jurgens took the field to warm up prior to the game. According to multiple reports, Jurgens status as active does not mean he will start Sunday's game.
Left guard Landon Dickerson had been expected to get the start at center if Jurgens could not play. Dickerson played the position in college, while second-year man Tyler Steen was expected to start at left guard. Dickerson had taken reps at center in Jurgen's absence during practice this week.
Tight end Dallas Goedert was also limited in practice throughout the week, but declared on Friday that he was ‘good to go’ and has no game status designation for Sunday. The same went for quarterback Jalen Hurts who was a full participant in practice this week despite tweaking his knee during an awkward tackle in the team's last game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Quinyon Mitchell is also cleared to return to action after missing most of the Rams game with a shoulder injury.
Wide receiver and punt returner Britain Covey will remain inactive as he recovers from a neck injury. Rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean will handle punt return duty again this week.
Lewis Cine, backup center Nick Gates, Trevor Keegan, Darian Kinnard, Eli Ricks, and Ainias Smith were all inactive for Sunday. Tanner McKee will serve as the emergency 3rd quarterback.
Commanders Injury Report
What we know:
The Commanders announced Saturday that Daron Payne had been downgraded from questionable to play in Sunday's game to out. Starting linebacker Bobby Wagner had also been limited in practice this week, but he had no injury designation by Friday night and appears ready to suit up.
The Commanders have only ruled one other player out of the NFC Championship game - starting right guard Sam Cosmi. Cosmi suffered a knee injury in the Commanders Divisional Round win over the Detroit Lions.
What we don't know:
The Commanders have played coy throughout the week when it comes to naming a replacement along the offensive line for Cosmi. Whoever starts will have to face a ferocious Eagles defensive front, including rising star Jalen Carter.
