Falcons in town, facing Eagles in battle of the birds

The slumping Philadelphia Eagles have a big assignment.

The Atlanta Falcons, led by quarterback and Penn Charter alum Matt Ryan, are in town.

The Eagles (4-4) have dropped three straight to Atlanta (6-3).

Philly's secondary has been a sieve -- Eli Manning tore it up for four touchdowns last week -- and now it takes on Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and the NFL's second-ranked offense.

Ryan is in his ninth season for the Falcons and is on pace to put up more than 40 TDs this year. Meanwhile, he has had only seven interceptions and is being mentioned as this year's most valuable player.

Also ominous for the hosting Eagles is the Falcons have found a pass rush. But the Eagles scored 20-plus points in 10 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the NFL.
