Zach Ertz named NFLPA's Week 5 Community MVP

After helping lift the Eagles to their third win of the season Thursday night against the Giants, tight end Zach Ertz has been named the NFLPA's Weekly Community MVP.

Ertz was named the community MVP for Week 5 after donating $80,000 Mission of Hope: Haiti to create the Ertz Family Foundation Haiti Scholarship Program.

The initiative will provide full scholarships to orphaned graduating high school students living in Haiti.

"I am beyond honored to have been named the NFLPA Week 5 Community MVP," Ertz said. "My wife Julie and I are driven to make positive and enduring change in our beloved city of Philadelphia, in California, in Haiti and around the world."

Ertz's contribution will go towards room, board, tuition, meals and learning materials for a full year of education at a college or university in Haiti. Recipients receiving the scholarship were raised at the Mission of Hope: Haiti orphanage.

Less than 1% of students in Haiti receive post-secondary education, according to UNICEF.
