Weather Authority: Cooler temps to follow Thursday showers

After a few unexpectedly pleasant October days, rain will be moving into the area Thursday and bringing cooler weekend temperatures with it.

As Michael, now a tropical storm, continues moving through the southeast, we'll be seeing some rain in the Delaware Valley.

Flash Flood watches will go into effect 2 p.m. for parts of the area and stay in effect until late Thursday night.

We're expecting to see significant rainfall totals in parts of the area with more than two inches possible in Philadelphia, and as many as three inches possible in Atlantic City by the time Friday morning comes around.

Strong winds will also impact the area overnight with gusts near 30 mph expected.

Thursday's expected to bring a high of about 78 degrees, before we see the big cool down overnight. We're looking at a high of just 64 on Friday, and 58 on Saturday.

Expect those cooler, fall temps to stick around through the weekend and into next week.
