1 dead, 1 wounded in South Philly overnight shooting

One man is dead and another wounded after a shooting in South Philadelphia overnight.

According to Philadelphia Police, the incident occurred on the 1200 block of South 28 th Street.

At 12:07 a.m. police responded to the scene finding a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:07 a.m.

The second victim suffered gunshot wounds to the leg and was sent to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

A few businesses in the area have surveillance cameras and the police department's homicide unit will be reviewing them.

Over two dozen shell casings were found at the scene.
