1 dead after double shooting at Kensington homeless camp
PHILADELPHIA (AP/WTXF) -- A shooting at a homeless encampment in Kensington has left one man dead and another hospitalized.
The shooting occurred shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday underneath a train trestle on the 2700 block of Emerald Street.
Authorities say a man who was shot in the head was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 23-year-old man who was shot in both legs was hospitalized in stable condition.
Witnesses say the shooter fled the scene on a bicycle but was taken into custody a short time later. It's not clear what charges he may be facing.
No other injuries were reported in the shooting.
A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
