1 Firefighter Injured in Somerton Basement Fire: Officials

PHILADELPHIA- WTXF - Firefighters battled a basement fire Wednesday at the two-story building on the 1800 block of St. Thomas Drive, in the Somerton area.

The blaze broke out around 2 p.m. Wednesday was placed under control shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Officials say one firefighter was transported for a leg injury.

The American Red Cross is currently assisting three adult occupants.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
