1 killed, another injured in early morning fire in West Philadelphia

An early morning fire in West Philadelphia sent one person to the hospital early Saturday morning,

The fire broke out on the 4700 block of Hazel Avenue around 7:50 a.m.

Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Derrick Sawyer tweeted Saturday morning that the fire resulted in a fatality. .

Officials confirmed one other person was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. Seven people has been displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

This fire is the third fire in the area to result in death over a 24-hour period.

In Norristown, two adults and one child died as the result of a fire that also injured six others.

Late Friday night, in South Philadelphia, a man and woman were also killed in a fire.

The causes of these two fires also remains under investigation.
